And the tyger is in danger.

Your work touched me so strongly as a child, and now a young adult I'm still excited to read your next book! Thank you for your work Mr. Said
ReplyDeleteI know! It's such a beautiful piece of work. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to read an astonishing book
DeleteWhat an amazing thing for a writer to hear! Thank you so much for letting me know. I hope you enjoy Tyger just as much as if not even more than my other books - I think it's my best one yet!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading,
SF Said
I had a ten-year old student bring me a copy of your second book and we wound up reading all three PAW books last term. I teach in a school for 'exceptional students' and read together with one or two students every school day. We are looking forward to reading TYGER when it becomes available in America.
ReplyDeleteDear Ken,
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful thing for an author to hear - thank you so much, and please thank that student for me too, and say hello to all your students, and wish them HAPPY READING! And please do let me know how it goes whenever you get a chance to read TYGER - I still love Varjak, but I feel sure this is my best book so far.
With best wishes,
SF Said
Hi S.F Said. Congrats on your new book 'TYGER'!!! I am absolutely sure it would be fantastic since the other books I have read your book have been! I wanted to ask you two questions. Where/when is your book 'TYGER' available? I asked this because I really want to read 'TYGER' and also I would like to show my teachers that maybe if we ever get time during the year we could read this book as a class. My other question was, How come it takes you nearly a decade to write a book. I understand that it might take that long since you would have to think of characters, but why almost a decade. I thought at least a year or two. I hope you understood my questions and hope you reply as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Tyger is currently available in the UK - there are links on the page above. Some of those places will also ship it overseas.
ReplyDeleteAs for why it takes me so long to write each book - every writer is different, and some do write a book a year. I'm definitely not a fast writer, because I do a lot of drafts. I want my books to be as good as I can possibly make them, and that takes a long time, and a lot of drafts. A wrote a bit more about that in this blog post, if you'd like to know more.
With best wishes,
SF Said
Thank you so much! I hope Tyger will be available in your library - you can always ask the librarians to order a copy if not!
ReplyDeleteI am writing a new book now, but it's still in the very early stages, and my books always change a lot as I work on them, so I can't say too much about it yet. But I hope it won't take 9 years this time!
With best wishes,

I can’t wait! I’ve been teaching Phoenix to enthralled children for 9 years! So excited.
ReplyDeleteThat's so wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for working with my books, and for letting me know. I hope you enjoy reading Tyger just as much as Phoenix, if not even more - please do let me know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading - and please wish all the children that you teach happy reading from me too!
With best wishes,

Hi SF Said your book is amazingly beautiful
ReplyDeleteHi SF Said, I love your books so much. I think they’re really clever. I enjoy reading them and I hate it when my mum says I have to stop reading at night! Are you going to write another book? Looking forward to it already. Thank you, Oscar age 11
ReplyDeleteHi Oscar,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your wonderful comment! I'm so glad you're enjoying my books - that really means a lot to me.
To answer your question: yes, I am writing another book at the moment. I've been working on this one for more than two years now. I don't know how long it will take until it's ready - but I always want to make each book as good as I can possibly make it, and it always feels worth it in the end. I'll definitely post about it here once there's any news to share.
Thanks again, and happy reading,
SF
Thank you SO much for replying. I can’t BELIEVE I am talking to my favourite author! As soon as you know the title or have any more news about your book, please can you tell me? I have read both Varjak Paw and just finished Tyger and now I’m about to start Phoenix. All the best with your new book, Oscar SP
ReplyDeleteDear Oscar,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I hope you enjoy reading Phoenix too. And I will definitely post about it here as soon as I have any news about my new book. Happy reading in the meantime!
With best wishes,
SF
I have to say, of all the books that I have read over the years (which is many, and includes an English Degree's worth) I don't think any have stayed with me the way Varjak Paw did.
ReplyDeleteIt was an incredible read, and I still remember it very fondly. Looking very forward to reading the rest of your publications and I wish you more success.
Dear Sheharyar,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your wonderful message - that really means a huge amount to me! I'm so glad that it has stayed with you after all this time - I always hope my books might do that, and might be enjoyed by readers of all ages, at all stages of their lives. I hope you will enjoy my other books too - I think Tyger is my best one yet! Please do let me know how it goes if you get a chance to read it.
With best wishes,
SF
I absolutely adored this book and was so sad when I finished it; wished it could’ve gone on forever! I would definitely recommend this book.
ReplyDeleteDear BK,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that amazing message! You can't imagine how much it means to a writer to hear something like that. Tyger took me 9 long, hard years to write, but all the work feels more than worthwhile when I hear a response like that from a reader.
I am working on a new book at the moment that is connected to Tyger - not a sequel, or a prequel, but very much connected, so if you wanted to read more of Tyger, I think you will definitely enjoy it! I'm not quite sure how much longer it will take me to finish it, but I will post about it as soon as I have any news!
Thank you so much again, and very best wishes,
SF
